Bryanston Development Company

About us

We are a small family property company with about forty five apartments located in and around Bryanston Square, London W1.

Our properties

The houses in Bryanston Square were built by the time of the Battle of Waterloo in 1815, to provide gracious family homes in London. The presence there today of the Swiss Ambassador's Residence and Embassy is an indication of the prestige it has always enjoyed.

Our flats are all in houses which we converted in pairs, to keep the numbers of flats per building small and to preserve the atmosphere of a large private London house. We have managed the properties since converting them into flats and live in the square ourselves.

They are listed Grade 2 and their elegant Georgian features have been carefully retained, whilst allowing for every modern convenience. The properties therefore provide homes of character, warmth and style in stark contrast to the impersonality of a large modern block of flats.

The local area

Bryanston Square garden, with its tall shady plane trees, is private to the residents of the square, who thus enjoy a sense of space and serenity supplemented by Regents Park and Hyde Park, both of which are within walking distance.

St Marylebone still retains much of its congenial village atmosphere, with its historic churches, small family shops, restaurants, pubs, etc.

Despite such amenities, which are usually only found far from the centre of a capital city, these properties are at the hub of London, being only a quarter of a mile (400 metres) from Marble Arch and within walking distance of Park Lane, Oxford Street, Bond Street, Baker Street and all principal underground lines.

Thus the West End's excellent shopping, entertainment and transport facilities are close at hand, and for a modest annual fee, residents are entitled to free parking in a wide area of Westminster, including the Square itself.

For many years now we have been pleased to number among our tenants embassies, diplomats, multi-national companies, banks and service personnel.
